In August and September Koei announced it is working on a PlayStation 3 and Wii U version respectively that will be released in Japan in December 2012. 481 characters appear in this game, which are a lot less than in Romance of the Three Kingdoms XI, but all characters do have new (high quality) portraits, which was not the case in XI.
